Be Disciplined by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Be Disciplined by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

No matter how gifted a person is, without the application of self-discipline, the gift will never take that person to his or her maximum potential. Do you want to conquer the world? Then, you have to conquer yourself first.

Titus 2:6 (KJV) Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

Conquer yourself before thinking of conquering the world. David, for instance, was able to conquer Goliath (1 Samuel 17), but he was not able to conquer himself. Adultery got the better of him! If you first conquer the world without conquering yourself, you will still fail — it is only a question of time. Jesus conquered Himself before He conquered the world. That’s why He could boldly say, “the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” John 14:30.

You can conquer the world and still be a problem. You must conquer yourself! Many dodge opportunities to improve themselves and wonder why they are failures. If you are a quitter, you will end up failing! You refused to conquer yourself, so you have no self-discipline — a necessary requirement for success. Success is not a function of prayers; it is a function of self-discipline. Yes, God has given you fantastic ideas but those ideas will never be actualized without self-discipline.

Proverbs 11:3 (KJV) The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Those who belong to Christ have nailed their natural evil desires to his cross and crucified them there. —Galatians 5:24 (TLB)

The strength for our conquering and our victory is drawn continually from Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond this world.

Topic: Tithe With Joy [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 8 February 2020]

And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance…that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth…and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name there. – Deuteronomy 26:1-2

Tithing. Most Christians aren’t very excited about it. But they should be—and they would be if they understood how to do it properly.

Scriptural tithing stirs up faith. It activates the power of God in our lives when we do it in gratitude and joy, expecting our needs to be met abundantly.

In Deuteronomy 26:8-9, God told the Israelites exactly what to say when they brought their tithes. He instructed them to acknowledge the fact that He had brought them out of the bondage of Egypt and to say:

Topic: Fear Of God [TREM Devotional 8 February 2019]

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

One of our cardinal points as a Church is the fear of God. Now not fear as running away that He may harm you, rather it is reverence for Him, you acknowledge Him for who He is and joyfully follow Him. That is the fear that God demands from us.

Many believers do not understand the fear of God. We are quick to relate fear to punishment and some people even have the image of a huge bearded guy with a big stick to ready to unleash His anger on you. No. God is loving. He loves you just for who you are. Even when you miss it, He has prepared for your redemption.

Memorise: “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” – Mark 9:23

Read: Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Open Heaven 8 February 2020 Saturday MESSAGE:
As we have seen from yesterday’s study, some Christians have little faith, and of course, they would not believe miracles can happen through them.

How I wish that the crowd at the Holy Ghost Services of the RCCG in Nigeria would have great faith to go out and start performing miracles. What a great revival that would bring! Jesus did not give the right to perform miracles to only a set of Christians, He said in Mark 16:17 that it is for believers.

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”
