Mike Adenuga Foundation donates N1.5bn to COVID-19 funds

 

  Mike Adenuga Foundation (MAF), established by billionaire, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr., on Monday donated N1.5 billion to Federal Government and Lagos State government to support Nigeria’s fight against the global Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Coronavirus- Nigeria Records Second Death


   The Nigerian Government has confirmed the second death from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, announced this on Monday during the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

  He said, “Till date, three persons have been discharged after successful treatment. But sadly, another fatality was recorded over the weekend in the person of a patient who had severe underlying illnesses. “We have intensified contact tracing and our strategy remains to promptly detect cases, isolate them, and follow up with their contacts and also isolate and treat, in order to reduce the spread of the infection.”

Senators Donate 50 Percent Of Salaries To Fight Against Covid-19

 

  The Nigerian Senate has announced the decision of the lawmakers to contribute 50 percent of their salaries to the fight against coronavirus in the country. In a statement issued on Monday by the acting spokesman of the Senate, Godiya Akwashiki, the move is part of their efforts to respond to the spread and treatment of COVID-19.

Lagos State Government confirms release of five more coronavirus patients

 

  The Lagos State Government has confirmed that five additional patients who have recovered from Coronavirus, COVID-19, have been discharged on Monday from Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba Mainland Hospital.

Oyo state Governor tests positive for COVID-19

 

   Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde has tested positive for coronavirus. He made the announcement via his Twitter handle. “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.
