The arrest warrant was issued by a U.S magistrate judge, Otis Wright, a spokesperson in the United States Attorney’s Office confirmed to Channels Television. According to documents unsealed this week in the US, Mr Kyari had arrested and jailed one Chibuzo Vincent, at the behest of Hushpuppi.
President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to increase education budget by 50% in the next two years. The defense Counsel, Chuma Oguejiofor argued that calling of new witnesses is not necessary as the matter has not been entered properly by the court. The suspects were in court but the judge, Justice K.I could not take plea on the matter and subsequently, adjourned to August 25th, 2021 for commencement of the case.
Their case was expected to proceed regardless of the annual court vacation slated to begin on July 26. But since the DSS failed to bring the aides before the court on Thursday, the case has stalled yet again, with Justice Egwatu now issueing another order, asking the DSS to produce the 12 aides in court on Monday, August 2. While giving the order, he stressed that when a court of competent Jurisdiction, gives an order, such must be respected and obeyed.
