4,389 Civil Service pensioners in the North Eastern states

     The federal government has verified a total of 4,389 Civil Service pensioners in the North Eastern states of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe and Bauchi.


    This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, signed by the executive secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, Sharon Ikeazor.
The statement indicated that Civil Service pensioners in the remaining states of Maiduguru and Yobe States are expected to be verified early next year.
     In addition to the pensioners verified, the Directorate said a total of 98 Next of Kin of deceased pensioners were also verified in the four states during the exercise, which started on the 28th of November and was concluded on the 6 December, 2016.

The Executive Secretary said that no pensioner in the region would be left behind in the exercise.

   She expressed appreciation for the support from the state governments, security services and the pension unions which, according to her, went a long way in making PTAD’s work easier.
