The member House of Representatives, representing Ika North-East/Ika South federal constituency, Victor Nwokolo, has empowered over 500 indigent persons with cash and items worth millions of naira.
Presenting the items, which include 18 milling machines both manual and fabricated, 15 generators, 10 tricycles for the disabled persons, 56 motorcycles, 18 electric and manual sewing machines, 15 hair dressing saloon equipment and five block moulding machines, two patrol vans for the two local government areas of Ika, and three security motorcycles to an anti-cult group, Nwokolo said that the gesture was to appreciate the people for their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration and other elected officers of Ika origin.
Assuring the people that the empowerment programme would continue until the current economic situation improves, he said that the empowerment was borne out of his desire to gradually transform communities in his constituency.
