Nigeria wins at Beach Soccer Afcon

Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles started their campaign at the 2016 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-2 win over Egypt in a tight contest at Eko Atlantic City in Lagos yesterday.

A goal from Sand Eagles captain, Isiaka Olawale and Emeka Ogbonna's double strike gave the hosts a win on the opening day of the tournament with Mohamed and Ahmed Abouserei scoring for Egypt.
It was, however, Ogbonna's well-taken goal late in the third period that secured all three points for Nigeria to go second behind Ivory Coast in Group A.
The Beach Soccer Afcon continues today with Nigeria facing Ivory Coast while Egypt and Ghana go head to head in Group A.

It will be an all-North African affair when Libya take on Morocco in Group B before Senegal square up against the African champions Madagascar.
