Senate to probe non remittance of $3.48 billion by NNPC.

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, are being accused by the Senate of allegedly misappropriating public revenue to the tune of $3.487 billion.
Against this backdrop, the Senate is mandating its Committees of Petroleum Resources and that of Finance to carry out a holistic investigation into the alleged level of corruption in the Corporation with a view to recovering the funds.
The upper chambers also mandated both organisations to immediately remit monies obtained on behalf of the Federal Government to the Federation Account.
It also directed the NNPC to forward its yearly estimate for repairs and pipeline operations and maintenance for Appropriation to the National Assembly.
