US National Basketball Association to open training academy in senegal

   The US National Basketball Association is announcing that it will open its first African training academy in Senegal early next year.

    Amadou Fall, NBA's vice-president for Africa, told newsmen that the centre would train boys and girls between the ages of 16 and 18.
  He said the centre would be part of its global network of elite training academies, adding that the players would be given access to facilities and resources available to elite players including nutritionists, personal coaches and physiotherapists.
  The centre will be in Thies, 60 kilo meters east of the capital, Dakar.
