President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that any university council or management found wanting of financial mismanagement or gross moral as well as ethical violations will face the full wrath of the law.
The president, who was represented by the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission ,NUC, disclosed this at the 6th convocation ceremony of the National Open University ,NOUN, in Abuja.
He said he had directed the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, to demand quarterly reports from universities detailing their major financial and administrative activities.
The president said his administration recognizes tertiary institutions as potent instruments of change in the collective resolve for the rebirth of a new nation.
