Wayne Rooney breaks Man Utd’s goal scoring record


   Wayne Rooney has become the highest goalscorer in the Manchester United after scoring a thumping free-kick against Stoke City.


  Rooney was introduced into the game with just 20 minutes on the clock as Man Utd trailed the Potters 1 – 0 at the Bet365 stadium.

  Joe Allen felled Marcus Rashford on the left and Rooney stood up to score his 250 goal in competitions for Manchester United.

   Sir Bobby Charlton held the record with 249 goal which Rooney equalled against Reading in the FA Cup.

  The match against Stoke City ended 1 – 1 as United remain in sixth position, five points ahead of Everton.
