INEC schedule Election Day in Etche and Omuma local government areas of Rivers state for Saturday, February 18

 

  Saturday, February 18, is been scheduled as Election Day in Etche and Omuma local government areas of Rivers state.

   Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, through the state’s resident electoral commissioner, Aniedi Ikoiwak, says the poll is to fill the Etche constituency II seat in the house of assembly and Etche/Omuma seat in the House of Representatives.
  The election would hold in 147 polling units in 19 registration areas in Etche and one polling unit.
According to Ikoiwak, adequate arrangement has been made for security during the exercise.
   You will recall that INEC had scheduled the poll for March 19, 2016, for rerun poll but the exercise was marred by violence, which forced the commission to call off the election.
