NAFDAC begins investigations on alleged importation of “Indian garri” into the country

    Following a tweet on alleged importation of “Indian garri” into the country, National Agency for Food and drug Administration, NAFDAC has begun investigations into the issue.


   Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, who spoke on the development in a statement said the product, said 26 packets of 500 mille gram of the product, said to be from Ghana but packaged in UK, were seized after regulatory officials visited a supermarket in Ikoyi axis of Lagos state.

   While noting that the product has no NAFDAC number, he also cautioned Nigerians not to consume the product.
