Presidency sends additional ambassadorial nominee to Senate

 Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has forwarded the name of  Adeyinka Asekun to the Senate for confirmation as a non-career ambassador.



   According to reports, the letter of nomination titled “Re: Submission of nomination of non-career ambassador” was read by the Senate President,  Bukola Saraki.

  The Acting President said that he hopes that the nomination will receive the usual kind and prompt attention of the distinguished members of the State of the Federal Republic.

   It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had on the 16th of January 2017 submitted the names of 47 non-career ambassadorial nominees for consideration and confirmation by the Senate.

  The nominees had already been screened by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
