No plan to reject 2017 budget, says presidency

The Presidency has denied any plans to reject the 2017 Appropriation Bill passed by the National Assembly. The legislature had passed a N7.441tn budget for the current fiscal year.

The budget was passed by the National Assembly on May 11. On May 19, it was delivered to Acting President Osinbajo by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang. Enang, in a statement on Saturday, said the executive was still verifying the estimates in the budget as appropriated for ministries, departments and agencies.
