The people of Ovwore community, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, have issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to pay compensation to them over their houses marked for demolition in the proposed Sapele/Agbor road dualization or they will block the East West Road and cause mayhem at the Amukpe roundabout portion of the road.
They gave the ultimatum through their representative, Sunday Asini yesterday at a meeting of stakeholders from the seven villages that make up Ovwore axis of the council area.
They also disagreed with the federal government on the valuation that has been reduced by 30 per cent just as anybody whose property is affected but without certificate of occupancy, will not be entitled to any compensation.
