Car stolen in Abuja recovered in C/River – Police

 

   The FCT Police Command has said a car reported stolen at gunpoint in Zuba, Abuja was traced to and recovered from a buyer in Yamite, Cross River State.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said four suspects have since been arrested in connection to the carjacking.

   He said the suspects, Iliyasu Ibrahim, 33, Abubakar Audu, 29, both from Ankpa, Kogi State, Samuel Unwujo, 32, of Mararaba, Nasarawa State and Abu Shuaibu, 27, of Tungan Maje, Abuja, on October 10, 2017, reportedly snatched a Toyota Camry car in Zuba and sold it for N450,000 at Yamite, Cross River State.

   “Acting on a reported case of armed robbery, police operatives attached to the command, following discreet investigation,  busted and arrested members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate that specialise in snatching cars from their victims at gunpoint,” he said.

  Manzah said exhibits recovered from the suspects included three locally made pistols, four live cartridges, four Beretta pistols and one custom colour Toyota Camry car. He said investigation is on-going and the suspects would be charged to court on conclusion of investigation.
