JAMB to sell UTME forms Nov 22

 ‎
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will start sale of online registration documents for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on November 22, its Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede has said.

Oloyede made the remarks in Abuja yesterday ‎at a critical stakeholders meeting on plans and modalities for the sale and registration of 2018 UTME documents.

He said “it is proposed that the sale of application documents would commence on November 22, 2017 and end on January 22, 2018 spanning a period of two months as against one month of the 2017 exercise.”  He said about 620 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres have been pencilled down for the exercise and would be allowed to register matriculants.

He said mock exams would hold between January 22 and 24, 2018 and only candidates who registered by December 31, 2017 and expressed interest would be eligible for the optional mock exams.  He said UTME would ‎take place between March 9 and 17, 2018 and that the board had taken into consideration the dates for other public examinations. He said the application fees remained N5,000 just as the reading text was still N500.

He said foreign candidates would pay $20 as application fees instead of $100 for candidates in African countries and $150 for countries outside Africa as obtainable last year. He said the board would introduce electronic jammers at all exam centres to prevent cheating and that all electronic devices, wrist watches and any form of pen would not be allowed into the centres while eye glasses would be examined.  He said the board had reduced the cost of conducting UTME by N2 billion in 2017.
