Saraki makes case for APC in Rivers

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has urged all aggrieved members of the Rivers State chapter of the APC to reconcile and embrace peace.

Saraki spoke in Port Harcourt at Senator Magnus Abe’s victory thanksgiving reception.
Saraki who graced the occasion with other senators, as well as Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, and his counterpart in Rivers, Nyesom Wike, said time had come for all APC members in Rivers State to forgive one another and work towards total reconciliation and peace.

The senate president also asked the APC Chairman in Rivers State, Dr. Ibiamu Ikanya, to set the ball rolling by initiating a peace process where all aggrieved party members would be on the same board.
“We want all the APC members in Rivers State to call for peace and reconciliation. What is wrong is wrong; we want peace in Rivers State and we want peace to reign in the state chapter of the party,” he said. He commended Senator Magnus Abe for his humility and peaceful disposition, saying that the presence of senators and other personalities at the event was a clear testimony of Abe’s humility.
“Abe works very hard for the party. If not for Magnus Abe, somebody will not be in the cabinet today. You are a very loyal and courageous person,” he stated.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in his remarks, called on Senator Abe and other top politicians in position of authority from the state to work for the interest of the state irrespective of party affiliation. In his response, Senator Abe who represents Rivers South East, said the future of Rivers State was everybody’s common destiny.
