SARS officers kill son of retired policeman

   The son of a retired policeman has also fallen victim to brutality meted out by SARS officers across the country, to young men who they tag fraudsters.

  Twitter user @AbdulMahmud01 who shared a report of an ongoing trial at NHRC, alleged that the son of the retired policeman was arrested by SARS officers in Port-Harcourt and was killed while his family were still negotiating his release.

His tweet reads;

  This is a small story and a lesson for all. Udo retired as a CSP of the Police. Last year his first and only son was picked up by SARS PH. Three days later, while he was still negotiating his son’s release, the son was extrajudicially murdered by SARS

  The son’s remains were deposited at the Uniport morgue. Police claimed he died in a shootout The son he saw in the cell three days earlier. At the National Human Rights Commission’s public hearing on SARS in Port Harcourt, Udoh was a broken man.

   During the hearing I asked him: “didn’t the police know that you are an ex-police officer?” “They knew, sir”, he answered. Lesson: Don’t ever live under the illusion that SARS will never “touch me” or anybody close to me.
