Fire Guts Warri Iron Market In Ogbe-Ijoh

With six days to Christmas, popular Ogbe-Ijoh Iron Market in Warri, was yesterday razed down by fire. The fire started at about 5:00 pm in the evening.

Traders at the market and commuters plying the Warri-Sapele road were seen scampering for safety. Most of the traders, in whose presence the fire began, were seen attempting to salvage one or two items as the fire bellows huge fire and smoke that were visible kilometres away from the site.

Traders, who have visibly destabilized were seen lamenting their losses. As the traders scampered to salvage some of their wares, firefighters from the State Fire Service, who allegedly arrived late to the scene, were seen battling with the huge inferno. So sad.
