Aliyu Aminu has been identified as one of the 13 soldiers killed killed in a Boko Haram ambush on Monday. The soldiers and two police personnel lost their lives when they ran into an ambush by the insurgents on Damaturu-Maiduguri road.
The gallant troops engaged the terrorists in a fire fight, courageously wading through the ambush. Sadly, 13 of them, a police personnel including an officer, lost their lives. Friends and family members have taken to Facebook to mourn the young soldier. One wrote:
"Innalillahi wainnailahi rajiun Its with great sorrow that I announce the death of our Son Aliyu Aminu (Abba)who is among the 13 Soldiers that were ambush by Boko Haram yesterday along Damaturu-maiduguri road.RIP"
