No fewer than 12 people, including school children have been confirmed dead in Wednesday’s collapsed 3-storey building at Ita-Faji area on Lagos Island.
The three-storey building is housing an illegal school on the third floor. Many children were reportedly trapped in the debris of the collapse. General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed the figure.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as well as security personnel, including the police, army, and National Security and Civil Defence Force (NSCDC) have continued with rescue operations at the scene.
