(SPORTS) Manchester United Progress To The Next Round In Champions League

Manchester United set various new records with away UEFA Champions League victory over PSG as Marcus Rashford’s penalty was the first he has ever taken for Manchester United in a competitive match. Manchester United are the first team in Champions League history to progress to the next round having lost by two or more goals at home in the first leg of a knockout match.

Manchester United have scored in 21 consecutive away matches in all competitions, equaling the club record set between November 1956 and September 1957 under Sir Matt Busby. Paris had not conceded 2 goals in the first 30 minutes of a Champions League game since October 1997 (against Bayern München).

Also Manchester United have scored more than once in an away Champions League knockout match for the first time since the 2010-11 semi-final against Schalke. Romelu Lukaku’s goal for Man Utd after just 1 minute 51 seconds is their fastest scored in a Champions League knockout match since Wayne Rooney scored after 63 seconds against Bayern Munich in March 2010.
