Dangote hands over drivers to Customs for conveying contrabands

 

    The transport section of Dangote Cement Ibese Plant has intercepted one of the company’s truck loaded with contrabands in Ibadan, and handed the drivers over to the Nigeria Customs Service for proper investigation and possible prosecution.

Prisoner smuggles 10 phones into cell, needs surgery to retrieve them from stomach

 

    Prisoner who smuggled 10 phones into his cell by swallowing them, is said to have needed a surgery to retrieve them. He is said to be one of the three inmates who had smuggled 19 phones into their cells, a situation that is currently giving the authorities concerns. The warders were allegedly tipped off when the ingested mobile phones set off metal detectors as the prisoners were being marched in.

Pipeline vandalism drops by 12% — NNPC

 

   The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it has recorded 12.77 per cent reduction in downstream pipeline vandalism following the extensive engagement with oil and gas community stakeholders embarked upon by the federal government and the corporation.

FG To Release N350bn For Capital Projects

 

    The Federal Government plans to release a total of 350 billion Naira for capital projects across the country. Speaking at the public presentation of the 2017 Appropriation Act in Abuja, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun said this will address the infrastructural needs in the country.

CBN injects $195m into forex market

 

     Following its intervention in the inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market, last week, to the tune of over $800 million, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday, June 19, 2017, injected a total sum of $195million into the inter-bank forex market to meet the requests of customers in the various segments of the market.
