Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, says the state is “Christian state and cannot be touched by anyone”. Nigeria is a secular nation, according to the constitution.
But speaking during a crusade organised by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Church in Port Harcourt, the state capital, the governor said God heard the prayers of the Christian community in the state and the people prevailed against “forces”. He had said it was God’s intervention that ensured his victory in the March governorship election. The governor said his administration would continue to support and partner with the church.
