US court jails Nigerian Victor Alonge and six others for romance scam
Olu Victor Alonge, charged along with six other Nigerians with a multi-year wire fraud scheme, has been sentenced to a 10-year imprisonment by a court in Georgia, United States. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr., on October 30, 2019 and ordered to pay $1,835,279.00 in victim restitution, according to a statement by the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Georgia.
Man With 23 Children Arrested For Attempting To Sell 3 Year Old Son For N5m
A 42 year old man has been arrested by the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for attempting to sell his three-year-old son in Lafia. Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari, State Commandant of the NSCDC told newsmen on Thursday in Lafia that the man was arrested on Tuesday following a sting operation by the officers of the command.
