UN donates $2m to Federal Government

 

  The United Nations has released $2m to the Nigerian Government to procure essential medical supplies to help contain the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

Lock-down: Bauchi residents engage in panic-buying of food items

 

  Bauchi residents are rushing to stock food items and other essential products barely some hours to the total lockdown of the state. The state government announced that effective Thursday night, movement into and out of the state would be restricted for two weeks as part of measures to check the spread of coronavirus.

Allow Tanker Drivers Operate During Lockdown, NNPC Tells Security Agencies

 

   The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has appealed to law enforcement agencies across the country to allow free movement of petroleum products by tanker drivers during the lockdown ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Reps To Donate Two Months’ Salary For Fight Against COVID-19


    The members of the House of Representatives have resolved to donate their two months’ salary to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

   Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila who announced this in a statement made available to Channels Television on Tuesday said the donation will be independent of the contributions by individual lawmakers to alleviate the hardship that their constituents face as a result of the pandemic.

China records 48 new coronavirus cases, five deaths

 

    China on Tuesday reported 48 new cases of coronavirus and five more deaths, in the latest figures released by the National Health Commission. According to the commission, all the new cases were imported cases, detected in people who had recently travelled outside the country.
