No Licence Issued For 5G In Nigeria – Pantami

   The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, on Saturday said no licence has been issued for 5G in Nigeria

   The Minister’s comment comes amid rumors circulating on social media that 5G technology causes COVID-19, the coronavirus disease that has put most of the world on hold. In a statement obtained by Channels TV, Pantami said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration will never seek technological advancement at the expense of the health and welfare of its citizens.

Pantami noted that the National Frequency Management Council (NFMC), “of which I am the Chairman, has not deliberated on or released any bulk frequency spectrum for the deployment of 5G.” He said a three-month study trial had commenced on November 25, “in order to critically review and study the health and security implications of deploying 5G in Nigeria.

We’ll soon have a center for COVID-19 test- Kaduna state government

   Hadiza Balarabe, deputy governor of Kaduna, says the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has promised that the state will soon have a COVID-19 testing centre.

Balarabe spoke on Friday while giving an update on the activities of Kaduna COVID-19 task force. Nasir el-Rufai, the state governor, had announced that Balarabe would take over the state’s task force after he tested positive for COVID-19.

   According to the deputy governor, Amina Baloni, the state commissioner for health, met with NCDC officials last week, “where that commitment was again emphasized’’

COVID19- 55-year-old man dies in Lagos facility

    A 55-year-old man who was admitted to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, has died in the facility.

   A reliable source at the tertiary hospital said the man died of COVID-19 complications. The source said the hospital discovered that the patient had COVID-19 after he tested positive for the virus when a Polymerase Chain Reaction test was done on his blood posthumously.

 “Fingerprint antibody test was done on him, confirming his COVID-19 infection,” punch source said. According to the source, the man, a 55-year-old hypertensive and diabetic patient had presented to LUTH’s emergency unit on Thursday night with “malaise, tremors, and fever.”

  The international community has rated Nigeria's emergency responses to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country. The rating was given by the secretary-general of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres on Friday, April 3, in New York during a press briefing.
