Dangote trucks exempted from Covid-19 lockdown

 

    On Friday, the Ogun state government announced the closure of 12 major roads into the state to prevent any vehicular movement within and outside Ogun. However, the state government, through a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, on Saturday, told security and traffic agencies to exempt Dangote trucks from the movement restriction order.

   The letter reads: “This is to confirm that Dangote Plc. trucks are exempted from the restrictions of movement and total lockdown of the state as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Kastina state Govrnment tells civil servants to resume duty

 

   Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has directed workers in the state’s civil service to resume work on Monday.

Funke Akindele, Husband Sentenced To 14 Days Community Service, Fined N100,000 Each




   Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, AbdulRasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz, have been sentenced to 14 days community service.  Funke Akindele and her husband were charged to court for violating restriction orders in Lagos.

On the 6th of April, 2020 at about 11am, Funke Akindele Bello and her husband Abdul Rasheed Bello were arraigned at the Chief Magistrate Court 1 Ogba on one count charge. They were brought to Court by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation, DCP Yetunde Longe.

The prosecuting team was lead by the Hon Attorney General of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN. The charge was read to the accused persons by the Court and they pleaded guilty. Having been found guilty as charged, they were sentenced as follows:

Secretary to the Government of the Federation Explains Role Of Expected Chinese Experts


 The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, has explained the role of the Chinese health experts expected to arrive in Nigeria.

Mustapha, who is the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, noted that the experts were expected in the country on the invitation of a Chinese company, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

Addressing a press briefing on Monday in Abuja, he stressed that the development was to complement the efforts of the Nigerian government to curtail the spread of coronavirus just like other nations around the world were doing.
