Southern Governors Meet In Lagos, To Discuss Open Grazing

   



  Governors of the southern region are holding a meeting in Lagos State. The meeting is a follow-up on the earlier meeting in Asaba hosted by the Delta state Governor where the governors agreed on far-reaching conclusions on open grazing, restructuring Nigeria, and calls for state police.

SERAP Sues Buhari Over $25bn Overdrafts Taken From CBN

 


 

  Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit, asking the court “to compel President Muhammadu Buhari to disclose spending details of the overdrafts and loans obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) since May 29, 2015, including the projects on which the overdrafts have been spent, and repayments of all overdrafts to date.”

NDLEA Arrests Woman With 100 Wraps Of Cocaine

   


Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a Nigerian woman based in Brazil, Mrs. Anita Ugochinyere Ogbonna, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, with 100 pellets of cocaine concealed in her private part and handbag.

Government of the United Kingdom (UK) has disclosed that its enquiries on the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, are continuing.

   The Head of Communications, British High Commission, Abuja, Dean Hurlock, stated this in response to media report that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, rebuffed the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, over Kanu’s arrest.

Kano Is Home To All Nigerians – Vice president

   



   Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday said Kano State is home to all Nigerians and a place where they can co-exist peacefully regardless of differences.

   Osinbajo stated this in Kano during the coronation of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th Emir of Kano, where he represented President Muhammadu Buhari.

   The event which drew dignitaries from far and wide featured, besides the administration of the oath, and the formal presentation of the Staff of Office to the Emir, traditional rites, prayers, recitals and speeches.

  Following the dethronement of former CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the new Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, was coronated today July 3.

I withdrew my son from a public school because bandits were targeting him- Gov El-Rufai

   



    Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has said that he withdrew his son, Abubakar, from a public school in the state because bandits were targeting him for abduction. The governor had in September 2019 enrolled Abubakar into the Kaduna Capital School which is a public school in the state. He had said that his decision to send Abubakar to a public school was a way of showing his commitment to fixing public education and raising the standards.

   The Lagos State Police Command has claimed they are not responsible for the death of a 14-year-old beverage seller at Ojota on Saturday.

Despite Heavy Security Presence, Yoruba Nation Protesters Storm Freedom Park

 


Despite the heavy presence of armed policemen around Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota, Lagos, agitators of the Yoruba nation on Saturday gathered at the park.

   Chanting different songs of freedom and flying their flags, the protesters said the nation is bleeding and they need Oodua Nation. The agitators insist that it is time to have a separate nation for the Yoruba ethnic group because they are suffering and are being marginalised.

Former National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has welcomed Zamfara Governor, Bello Matawalle to the ruling party.
