Nigeria To Receive 176,000 J&J COVID-19 Vaccines On Wednesday

   


   Nigeria is expected to receive 176,000 doses of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday. Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, confirmed this at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

Man stabs wife to death after she threatened to divorce him

 


    A Ghanaian man identified as Emmanuel Okyere Baffour has been declared wanted for the alleged murder of his wife, Joyce Johnes Afi Jassika, after she threatened to divorce him. According to reports, he allegedly murdered his 26-year-old wife, on Thursday, August 6, at Degede, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

Female police officer, 29, is first Chicago woman cop shot dead on the job in 33 years

   



  A 29-year-old female police officer was shot and killed while another was seriously wounded in an exchange of gunfire during a traffic stop in Chicago over the weekend. The officer killed Saturday night, August 7, was identified as Ella French. She is the first female cop to be fatally shot on the job in more than three decades, according to the Chicago Police Department.

  ‘We will never forget the true bravery she exemplified as she laid her life down to protect others,’ the department said of French in a Facebook post on Sunday evening. The department added that fellow officers will ‘grieve the loss of this hero’ and that it requested support for French’s ‘wounded partner, who is in the hospital fighting for his life’.

Court orders Okorocha to forfeit over 500 properties to Imo

   


    A High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State has ordered former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha to forfeit over 500 personal properties acquired while in office to the State Government.

   Ruling on a case between Imo Attorney General and Mrs. Nkechi Rochas Okorocha Incorporated Trustees of Rochas Foundation Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha as Applicant and Respondents respectively in suit No HOW/M1191/2021, Justice Fred Njemanze ordered the final and absolute forfeiture of Royal Palm Springs Hotel and other properties said to belong to Senator Rochas Okorocha and other members of his family.

    BBNaija housemate, JMK, has opened up on why she chose to be at the Big Brother Naija House instead of being called to bar as a lawyer. JMK is one of the four housemates that got into the house recently.

   During a chat with Angel, another housemate, she said she had just taken the bar exam and her results were good but that she chose coming into the BBNaija House than being called to bar because of the clash in dates. She said, ”I didn’t make it for my call to bar. It was either this…I mean I can always do it. My result came out well so I can always do the call to bar later.
