Among those screened by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs yesterdayincludeGoniBura from Yobe state, Yusuf Tuggar from Bauchi state, Ahmed Ibeto from Niger state, Justice George Oguntade from Lagos state, GarbaGajam from Zamfara state, Christopher Okere from Anambra state and EtubornAsuquo from Cross River state.
General AshimiyuOlaniyi from Oyo state OrijiNgofa from Rivers state, Jonah Odo from Ebonyi state and EniolaAjayi from Ekiti state also made the list.
The Chairperson of the committee, Senator MonsuratSunmonu, commended members for a job well done; saying that though the screening started late, the committee was able to screen 23 as against 14 nominees it intended to.
The committee is due to screen the remaining nominees today. You will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari resubmitted a list of 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees to the senate on January 12 for confirmation.
