Delta government partners firm to establish power plant

    AS part of its efforts to boost power supply in Delta state, plans have been concluded to partner Thames Vpower Group, a power generating firm, to establish a power plant in Ozoro, Isoko North North Local Government Area of the state.



   The state Commissioner for Urban and Rural Development, KaroIlolo, who disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting with representatives of Isoko nation at Oleh, said the current administration was determined to improve the living standards of all Deltans.

   At the stakeholders meeting, chaired by the President-General of Isoko Development Union, Chief IduhAmadhe, Ilolo said that the project aimed at generating 20 megawatts of electricity for the various communities in Isokoland would derive gas supply from the Ogini flow station.

   He further disclosed that Chief Amadhe and the Chairmen Isoko North and South Local Government Areas, Emmanuel Egbabor and IthiakoIkpokpo respectively, have held series of meetings with Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Thames Vpower Group among other stakeholders to ensure that Isoko has uninterrupted power supply.
