Delta State Water Bill Passes 2nd Reading



     Delta State Water Bill has passed second reading at the state’s House of Assembly courtesy of Majority Leader, Hon. Tim Owhefere moving the motion and Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri seconding it.

   Speaking during the debate on the Bill, the Majority Leader said that the essence of the Bill is to ensure that consumers are adequately protected from fake and to enable the state key into the National Water and Sanitation Policies of the Federal Government.
   After Hon. Pat.Ajudua, who represents Oshimili-North Local Government Area, Hon. Samuel Mariere of Ughelli-North1Local Government Area,Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri and Hon. EvanceIvwurie spoke in favour of the bill, it was committed to the committee on Water Resources and to report in four weeks. The House was adjourned to today February1st, 2017 at 10.00 am.
