Over 40 illegal refineries destroyed by Nigerian Navy Ship, Delta

 

   Over 40 illegal refineries and over one million metric tonnes of products suspected to be crude oil have been destroyed by Nigerian Navy Ship, Delta.

   The Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship, Delta, Commodore Ibrahim Dewu, disclosed this to newsmen at the Warri Naval Base shortly after the operation at Jones Creek, in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta.
   Three suspects were apprehended during the course of the raid, with over 200 tanks, carrying over 10,000 litres each discovered during the operation.
  While warning that the activities of the hoodlums are affecting aquatic life in the area, Commodore Dewu, stated that Nigerian Navy Ship, Delta is equal to its task, adding that it will continue to being to a halt illegal activities within the creeks.
  Meanwhile, Operation Eagle Eyesand phase two of Operation River Sweep of the Nigerian Navy anti-piracy operation are ongoing.
