NNPC Pays $1b Out of $5b cash call, says Baru

 

   The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has paid $1billion out of its $5billion cash call arraers. The Group Managing Director Dr. Maikanti Baru stated this in Abuja while addressing the corporation’s workers via a mail broadcast to commemorate his two-year anniversary. In a statement released yesterday,  Baru said in the upstream sub-sector, the corporation has worked hard to sustain production level   above an average of 2million barrels per day (bpd) this year.  He said aside securing approval and signing off the novel financing structure with Schlumberger for the NNPC/First E&P JV, which is expected to deliver a peak production of 50kbopd and 120million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd) by 2019.

Ex-Premier League Coach, George Ormond Jailed Over Sexual Abuse

 

    An Ex-Premier League coach, George Ormond has been sentence to 20 years in jail by a Newcastle court over sexual abuse. Ormond, who was a destructive paedophile, worked with Newcastle United’s youth team in 1970 and 1980s before assisting the Premier League club in the 1990s.  The 62-year-old used his powers over vulnerable and ambitious boys as young as 11-years-old to sexually abuse them and keep them silent.

How NYSC Corp Member Was Killed in Abuja Who Was To Pass out Thursday

 

   Igwetu was allegedly shot on Wednesday by a SARS officer identified as Benjamin Peters. Linda, who was billed to pass out of NYSC yesterday, Thursday, went out with her friends to celebrate the completion of her one year service when the trigger-happy policeman shot her. She sustained gunshot wound and was rushed to Garki hospital but the hospital allegedly refused to treat her, citing the absence of police report authorizing them to treat her.

Dasuki, Ex- National Security Adviser Trial Put Off



   The trial of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki in the alleged misappropriation of Security fund brought against him by the Federal Government has been put off again by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Export Inflow At LFZ To Hit $6b by 2020- Ambode


 Governor Akinwunmi Ambode  of Lagos State, on Thursday, said the export inflow at the Lekki Free Zone (LFZ) in Ibeju Lekki area of the state is projected to hit over $6billion (about N2.159trillion) by 2020, saying it was time for Nigeria to develop sustainable roadmap to rev up export with particular focus on multi-sector products far beyond oil.
