(LOCAL) Governors Kick Against NFIU’s Rule On Local Governments Autonomy

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has petitioned President Muhmmadu Buhari over the released guidelines by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) on granting financial autonomy to Local Governments.

The NGF in a letter signed by Chairman and Governor of Zamfara, Abdulaziz Yari, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja, expressed “dismay and angst” over NFIU action as attempt to dabble into a matter that was beyond its mandate. Be Resolute In Your Faith by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Be Resolute In Your Faith by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. It is a blessing to be alive today. Thank God for His goodness and mercies towards us. This morning, I want to admonish us, to be resolute in our faith.

Let us examine this scripture together,

1 Corinthians 16:13 (MSG)

“Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute.”

I’ve said it many times and it bears repetition that these are the last days, and the devil is out of the closet, knowing that his time is short. However, the good news is that as believers, victory is guaranteed already and this is why you must decide to stand against all odds.

. . . greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. — 1 John 4:4

Paul once wrote, “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye can not do the things that ye would” (Galatians 5:17). This is the battle or the tension that is present in us to a greater or lesser degree. So, you see, the spiritual lag that you feel is explained in the Bible. That does not mean that you accept it as the way it should be. You should make all necessary preparations for this battle which the Bible says “is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces.”
