Federal Government to resumes COVID-19 vaccinations Aug 19

     


    Federal government has said that COVID-19 vaccinations will resume in the country on August 16. The Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr Faisal Shuaib who disclosed this in Abuja on Tuesday, said the doses of the Moderna vaccine, which arrived  from the United States last week, were being prepared for rollout. Shuaib who spoke at a media briefing,  said labels with barcodes were being prepared to enable proper  tracking and tracing of the vaccine doses at health facilities where they will be administered.

    Andrew Cuomo Resigns: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has resigned after an inquiry found he sexually harassed multiple women, prompting efforts to remove him. His resignation goes into effect in 14 days. Power will then be transferred to Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. “The best way I can help now is if I step aside,” he said on Tuesday, while maintaining the claims were untruthful.

   The Democrat faced pressure from his own party to resign since last week’s report, including from President Biden. Albany DA spokesperson Cecilia Walsh said their office’s inquiry into possible    criminal conduct in their jurisdiction “remains open and pending.”

Nollywood actor, Rich Oganiru, dies

   



    Nollywood actor, Rich Oganiru, has passed on. The actor reportedly died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 after being ill for months. Only two weeks ago, a video of Rich Oganiru lying in his sick bed and begging for financial assistance was shared online.

"Please, everyone should reach out before he dies," the caption on the post reads.

Why EFCC Invited Me – Senator Seriake, former Bayelsa State Governor


      Senator Seriake Dickson has explained that he was at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to clarify some issues related to assets declaration. 

   The former Bayelsa State leader was at the office of the anti-graft agency in Abuja on Tuesday upon the invitation of the agency. He was later released to go home. In a statement he issued later in the day, Senator Seriake noted that a non-governmental organization had petitioned the EFCC over some of his assets which they claimed were not declared.
