UNIMAID VC- Search for oil will continue in the Lake Chad basin
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi said despite the recent Boko Haram attack, the search for oil will continue in the Lake Chad basin. Njodi made the commitment pledge when a delegation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum visited him in Maiduguri.

Mercy Johnson's outfit last Night At Warri Mega Fiesta
Mercy Johnson was at the Warri Mega Fiesta last night and she looked amazing. The mother-of-three wore two different outfits for the night. The first was a purple jumpsuit with a long train, paired with a pair of yellow shoes, and the second was a blue and grey blouse and pants combination.

School teacher arrested for defaming Saraki on Facebook
Biodun Baba, a teacher at LGEA School, Olorunlana in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara, had been reportedly sacked by the Kwara state government for the alleged offence. A battery of lawyers appeared at the Ilorin Senior Magistrates Court in support of a 37-year-old primary school teacher, charged with defaming Senate President Bukola Saraki on Facebook.
Naira loses 0.5 points against dollar
The Nigerian currency lost 0.50 to exchange at N362 from the N361.5 it posted on Wednesday, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N474 and N424, respectively. At the Bureau De Change (BDC) window, the Naira closed at N362 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro traded at N476 and N424, respectively.

Senate passes Financial Intelligence Bill in one week
The Senate on Thursday passed the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Agency Bill after considering the bill for only one week. The Bill which was only read for the first time on Thursday July 20, passed second reading on Tuesday and was approved by the upper legislative chamber on Thursday, exactly one week after.
