Men Who Fought Because Their Wives Were Quarreling Reportedly Dies In Enugu

    Over the weekend, a viral video emerged of two men in Enugu fighting like wounded lions because their wives had a minor altercation.These men used broken bottles, benches and iron on themselves and reports allege that both have succumbed to their injuries. They leave behind their warring wives and children.

NDA produces ventilators

     Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has designed and produced 2 types of ventilators, hand wash and sanitiser that could be quickly reproduced to stem the shortage of the equipment in the country.

   The design and production of the ventilators are coming a week after the Commandant NDA, Major General Jamil Sarham, convened a team of engineers, technologists and technicians from the Mechatronics Department under Major Dr Abubakar Suraj Imam to rapidly develop affordable ventilator within the shortest possible time, using readily available components. A statement issued by the Defence Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Abubakar Abdullahi said, the team was also tasked to develop capacity of producing at least 30 ventilators in a month.

NBA star Dinwiddie to play for Nigerian team

 

  NBA star Spencer Dinwiddie is reportedly acquiring a Nigerian passport to play for the national team, D’Tigers. Dinwiddie plays for Brooklyn Nets as guard.

   News about Dinwiddie’s switch to Nigeria was reported by Shams Charania, an NBA insider and analyst for The Athletic and Stadium. He broke the news in a tweet that has gone viral. Acquiring a passport to play for another country is common for players who play in domestic leagues overseas.

US lawyers sue China for trillions of dollars for allowing coronavirus outbreak to erupt

 

  Lawyers in the US have launched a landmark legal action to sue China for trillions of dollars over the coronavirus pandemic, accusing its Communist leaders of negligence for allowing the outbreak to erupt and then covering it up. The class action, which involves thousands of claimants from 40 countries including Britain and the US, was filed in Florida last month.

A second case launched this month on behalf of healthcare workers accuses China of hoarding life-saving medical supplies. The legal challenges – set to be followed by another from Israeli human rights lawyers who specialise in suing states for terrorism – ramp up the pressure on President Xi Jinping to account fully for his country’s actions.

Borno, Akwa Ibom Record First COVID-19 Deaths

   Borno and Akwa Ibom States have recorded their first deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in an early morning tweet on Monday.

    The fatality in Borno was the index and only case in the state, while a total of nine cases have been confirmed in Akwa Ibom. Of the remaining eight cases in the south-southern state, the NCDC said five COVID-19 cases were active and three patients have recovered and been discharged.
